Doing some pottering around the internet over the weekend I came across an interesting fact -studies have shown that effective leaders and charismatic communicators use more ‘picture’ words and images in their language than others.

Although I’d never analyzed it before, instinctively I knew that this just had to be true. Great speakers use images a lot. Think of a great speaker. I’ll bet they use imagery and descriptive language to bring their words to life. Take Dr Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech as an example. Dr King uses strong imagery throughout:
